Venom Checks

Hello, I just came by to ask how exactly the populace would check for venom in someone if they were bitten by a highly venomous snake/spider as my characters backstory requires this information. Thank you again.

As resident Australian, I'll also take the time to answer this one

I doubt the average joe in the AoT universe could identify venom attacks, but any semi-qualified medical authority from that time should be able to tell that a venomous creature attacked a person using the following technique:
-Locating sting/puncture wounds. This isn't a blind search, because usually this place on the body will swell and redden up. Also, it will hurt like hell.
-It will cause symptoms related to general sickness, such as difficulty breathing, vomiting, worsening vision, sweat, numbness and weakness, and generally just feeling ill.

Most importantly, though, whenever there's a SUSPICION that someone has been bitten by a venomous creature, we usually assume the worst and immediately treat them with antivenom. Rather waste some supplies on a healthy boy than sit idle while someone is dying because you couldn't quite tell he was bitten by a venomous creature.
