All is Shattered (Closed: Mitsuo, Alan) Empty All is Shattered (Closed: Mitsuo, Alan)

He'd been mulling it over. Thoughts running through his head kept him unsettled. Mitsuo could not relax since the mission to the Underground. He started feeling uncomfortable in his own skin, even.

He had to talk with Alan. There was unfinished business between the two. A lot of which were matters that happened during the mission. Others... progress on personal matters.

Mitsuo looked at the Military Police's headquarters and let out a heavy exhale. He had travelled this far... yet the nerves had only started kicking in. The atmosphere the two separated at was not a friendly one.

The young Shimura didn't really know where he was to meet Alan, for he had never visited the Captains office nor did the Unicorn tell him where it was.

The mechanic didn't know what he expected as an outcome when meeting his fellow friend but the meeting was necessary none the less.
Right now, Mitsuo's mind was cloudy like the dark grey clouds above but it wasn't in as dark a place as it was when in the Underground.

Mitsuo entered the building and started asking around for directions to Captain Katlewande's office. No matter who he asked, the response he got was always the same. A dark, solemn stare and silence.

Unsettling. Maybe Alan reported what happened. Would make sense as it was a a mission. Mitsuo couldn't understand why he'd get the gloomy looks, though. As far as he could remember he didn't do anything... wrong. The cultists. He didn't help. Ah.

The dark evening was growing short and so he pressed on. Still asking. Still looking. Still wanting to talk.

Vindhelm shuffled heavily through the corridor. He has been feeling sluggish ever since he heard about the captain. Sluggish and sick. The first time he heard, he couldn't believe it. When the realization sunk in, he had to run to the bathroom to throw up in panic. It wasn't supposed to happen like that. Especially not to the captain. Now, thinking about it still made him a bit nauseous, but there were more important things to attend to.

He was on his way to meet Hyda and Peter in the library. They've been meeting there every day since they've heard the news. Even though they were all assigned different squads, they made sure to meet up at least once a day.
Ottomer couldn't just have disappeared, and his crime couldn't just go unpunished. They had to find him, and understand why he did what he did. However, sources were very few.

Vindhelm kept walking, lost in thought, when all of a sudden he rammed into Mitsuo by accident. Instantly, he recalled the mission that took place Underground. It was not a good memory, but it was connected to Alan, so it instantly sparked his interest.
"Mitsuo Shimura." Vindhelm said, eyes strangely gleaming "What a surprise."
It was unusual for non-MPs to be in the Military Police headquarters, much less at this time of the day. Something was clearly up. Vindhelm's eyes quickly darted to the left, and then to the right. The rest of the corridors were empty.
He leaned in a bit closer, perhaps too close. "What are you doing here?" Vindhelm asked quietly, nervously awaiting an answer.
Mitsuo might have been Alan's friend, but so was Ottomer. No one could be trusted.

Before Mitsuo had realised, he had found himself standing alone in the corridor. No one had answered his questions, they just left him... lost. He put it down to work, they must have all been busy.

Someone collided into the young Shimura, guess they both weren't paying attention to notice each other. Wasn't his fault for once, he was standing still after all.

"Mitsuo Shimura," the mechanic snapped his attention to the person who spoke his name. He met the eyes of Vindhelm, who he remembered being under Alan during the mission. Part of the Captain's personal squad, he believed.

The way Vindhelm asked Mitsuo what his business was caught him in a surprise. It led him to become confused, something strange was going on. He was certain of it.

"I-I'm here to speak with Captain Katlewande but I don't know where his office is. Perhaps you could point me in the direction, if it doesn't take up your time. I'd be grateful."

Mitsuo felt a lump in his throat, his curiosity gave him a bad feeling about the situation here.
"Is something the matter, I've noticed everyone being a bit strange."

Vindhelm flinched at the mention of Alan. The name still stung, because along with the name came the memories, and along with the memories came the realization that he was no more.
However, more horrible than remembering his fallen comrade, was the realization that Mitsuo doesn't know, and is looking for answers, that the heavy, herculean burden of telling the poor mechanic that his friend is dead falls upon Vindhelm's shoulders.
He wasn't ready for such a feat. He could barely handle himself at the moment. How was he to tell Mitsuo?

So instead of responding, Vindhelm gulped and said a prayer in his mind.
"Yes, something's the matter... but please come with me. We will explain."
Vindhelm knew Hyda and Peter won't mind Mitsuo coming along. If anything, they have been planning to talk to him for a while now. However, Vindhelm was far more glad knowing that he could pass on the responsibility of telling Mitsuo about the passing of Alan Katlewande to a different soldier. It was selfish, but he needed to take care of himself for now.
And so, he began walking. Not towards Alan's office, but to the library, where he friends surely must be waiting. Vindhelm hoped Mitsuo knows little enough about this place to not realize he's not being taken to Alan's office only until he's inside the closed door of the library.

Mitsuo's concern grew as Vindhelm confirmed his suspicions. What could have possibly happened that would make most, if not all, of the Military Police act in such way? Maybe a prisoner escaped? Mitsuo had his guesses but none of them shared allowed. He feared it may be classified.

The young Shimura willingly followed Vindhelm through the corridors of the headquarters. He definitely would not have found Alan's office alone, that was for sure. Then again, Mitsuo didn't realize they were not heading to Alan's office. He had never been to the MP headquarters before as he had no reason to and therefore he didn't know the locations of any rooms.

He could recognize a library by the looks of one, however, and he did as Vindhelm shut the door of the room they just entered behind them.
He noticed Hyda and Peter talking among themselves further in the room.

"This is not Alan's office..." his voice a whisper filled with concern, confusion and fear, "is there a reason why we're here?"

A stupid question, he already knew there was a reason why they were in the private library of the MP otherwise he wouldn't have been guided there.

"Does this relate to what's going on around here?"

Another stupid question, Mitsuo could theorize that the meeting of Hyda, Peter and Vilndhelm as well as him being guided here, was about what was going on.

Vindhelm said nothing and guided the mechanic over to the other two, which the young Shimura greeted with a wave and no words.

All is Shattered (Closed: Mitsuo, Alan) Empty Re: All is Shattered (Closed: Mitsuo, Alan)

The shame ate away at Vindhelm as he led the scout to the library. It was cowardly, but he really wasn't in the brave spirit. He knew Peter would be able to handle it way better, that scary, emotionless man. Vindhelm honestly still didn't fully get Peter, but they got along well enough. For some weird reason, he got the feeling that Peter likes him.

Soon enough, they entered the library. It was dimly lit by various candles placed around, and was practically devoid of people. That is, except for two people sat around a small table. One of the was a small blonde, her exasperated blue eyes reflecting the flame of the candle before her. Beside her sat a tall and skinny man with mismatched eyes, that revealed nothing of what was happening behind them. The two were discussing something, but quickly stopped when the door opened.
Mitsuo asked Vindhelm questions but he made no reply. He couldn't bear to face Mitsuo. He couldn't bear to face himself.
Peter simply watched silently as Mitsuo and Vindhelm stepped forth, but Hyda was far more proactive. She stood abruptly and walked towards the two newcomers, a concerned expression on her face.
"Why did you bring him, Vind?" she asked the large man beside Mitsuo, her brow furrowed in frustration.
"I- I ran into him. He was looking for A-Alan" stuttered Vindhelm, struggling to find words while slowly continuing his way into the library "He can help us. But he - he doesn't know. About... any of this."
Hyda's expression softened and turned into one of sadness. "Oh." she replied, and returned to her chair.

When all three of the squadmates were sat down, Peter gestured with his hand to the empty chair. He understood from the moment the pair entered that he would have to be the one to do the explaining. Oh well.
"Sit." he spoke to the mechanic, staring unblinking. After that, he began explaining. The odd policeman was not one for words - or for softening the blow, but he made an effort to sound more... human for Mitsuo. It would be important soon after.

"I understand you came looking for Captain Alan." Peter began, doing his best to slow down his sentences "There's something that happened a few days ago, not made public for a reason. Something concerning a criminal... and the Captain." Peter blinked briefly. Even for him it wasn't so easy to talk about this.
"It regrets me to inform you that... the Captain is dead. He has been killed in an attack on his life 2 days ago."
Vindhelm shuddered to the sound of the words. Hyda gulped down her tears. Peter stared, unblinking and unfeeling. Not incapable of feeling, just willing the feelings away.
"The culprit is most likely our former squad member, Ottomer, who disappeared that same night. I assume you've never met him before."
From here, Peter refrained from saying any more, knowing Mitsuo will need time to take it all in, and that questions will soon follow.

All is Shattered (Closed: Mitsuo, Alan) Empty Re: All is Shattered (Closed: Mitsuo, Alan)

Post by Mitsuo Shimura 29/4/2018, 17:29

Mitsuo didn't want to believe what he heard. He couldn't. He wanted to pass it off as some sick joke but the way Peter told him the news and the fact that it was two days ago, he knew it was the truth.

Mitsuo's stomach dropped and a sudden feeling of emptiness washed over him. His eyes slowly looked at the three individuals before him, one by one. Tears welled up and dared to fall.

"O-oh..."

A pause, followed by a long take of a breath.

"Dead, huh? And you think... Ottomer did it? I haven't met him, you're right, but you said he was part of your squad. So... do you have any idea why he'd... kill... Alan?"

The young Shimura's head filled with questions. Ones he didn't want to ask but needed answers to. He understood that Alan meant as much to the people before him just as much as the captain meant to him, if not more. They had two days to adjust, maybe they still haven't, but Mitsuo could assume they don't want to go through someone crying in grief again.

"So, the entire MP know? And you're keeping the event withheld from public? That's good. His family don't know yet, I assume?"

Mitsuo took a stifled breath as his tells finally rolled down his cheeks. He didn't know Alan too well, now that he looked back over their relationship but he was indeed a friend.

"I take it a funeral is planned? If you require any funding for it I will not mind putting my earnings towards it."

Alan was dead. By murder. It kept running through his head. Ottomer. Anger slowly but surely swelled up in Mitsuo. Replacing the emptiness he felt. The fact that death could befall people in the MP. The fact that Alan still had quite a life a head of him. Mitsuo saw images flashed of his own life in front of his eyes.

Him as a kid smiling, innocent and not a clue of the dangers of the world. A child who made a promise to his mother that he'd make everyone feel happy and safe.
He then saw himself as a fresh trainee, following that childish dream with a fire of passion and determination.

The image broke like shattered glass.

Now he stood. A new fire kindled in his eyes. One that burned cold. One that burned of revenge and disgust. The world was harsh. People were unfair. Justice was uncertain.

The mechanic wiped his eyes on his sleeve and spoke once more, his voice now heavy and confident.
"Hey. You're going to investigate his death, right? If it's OK with you, I'd like some one to try and pull some strings and have me involved. I don't care how. I want to catch this bastard."

All is Shattered (Closed: Mitsuo, Alan) Empty Re: All is Shattered (Closed: Mitsuo, Alan)

Post by Alan Katlewande 29/4/2018, 18:43

The three remainders of Alan's squad watched silently as Mitsuo slowly came to grips with what was said to him. Watched as he slowly realize what he had already known - that Alan was gone.
Vindhelm was afraid of Mitsuo's reaction. Peter wondered what the mechanic's relationship was with their former captain. Hyda was the one who felt the most sympathy towards Mitsuo and what he must be feeling right now. She felt quite the same way, honestly.

She put a hand hesitantly on his own.
"I'm sorry." she said, tears returning once again to her eyes.
"We don't exactly know it was Ottomer" spoke Peter, no change in expression "But considering he disappeared without telling anyone, he's the primary suspect. But as for... motivation..."
Peter's eyes lowered, tired. "We don't know yet."
"It wasn't Otto!" whispered Hyda forcefully, rubbing the tears away "He would never hurt the Catpain!"
"You don't know that for certain" replied Peter, calmly but firmly. His mismatched gaze now pierced Hyda, and made her silent.

When Mitsuo asked about who knew of the incident, the trio exchanged glares.
"Well, technically, only a few higher ups know about the incident." Hyda explained, her voice quiet, as if she's afraid to get caught "But every MP knows. Word travels fast."
"W-we have to keep it covered up. The public would go mad if they heard an MP captain was k-killed in the very heart of the capital" spoke up Vindhelm, his hands grasping each other tightly.

Peter was the one to reply when Shimura brought up the matter of a ceremony.
"Funeral? Not yet." spoke Peter, scratching his chin with two fingers "My deduction is that Commander Dok will wait a few more days before publicly announcing the event. Wants things to cool, most like. But there will be one, surely. Captains have their own funerals arranged by the Military."
"Peter." hissed Hyda at him "Stop that."
He blinked back, confused. "Stop what?" he asked.
Hyda gestured with her hand "All... this. This practical bull. Stop pretending like you don't care, like you don't feel grief."
"Hyda..." he muttered, for once a tone of concern in his voice.

Mitsuo stood up, abruptly cutting him off. The three looked up at him. Vindhelm was scared by it all, the passion in his eyes. It was a dangerous passion, one that could lead to bad things.
Hyda stood up after Mitsuo finished asking to join the investigation. A rather vain effort to appear more impressive, considering she was the shortest of the bunch. "Of course we're going to investigate, and catch the guy. That's what the captain would've done, and what he taught us to do." she smiled, catching on to Mitsuo's flare "We're not part of the official investigation team, but we knew the captain best. We need to be the ones to find Otto."
"Not so fast." spoke Peter, glaring at the mechanic and the blonde.
Hyda's confidence quickly wavered. She lowered her eyes.
"How can we trust you?" asked Peter bluntly, not taking his eyes off Mitsuo Shimura "How do we know you didn't kill him, or you weren't part of the whole ordeal?"
"Peter!" yelled Hyda, clearly upset at her squadmate "Look how traumatized he is! Of course he wasn't part of it!"
"That goes for both of you as well" Peter continued, eyes darting from Hyda to Vindhelm "Until we get more clues, you're all suspects. And so would I be, if I knew I didn't do it."

Exasperated, Hyda stormed off and leaned on a nearby bookcase, twisting her hair with a finger. Peter sometimes infuriated her, with his cold and uncompassionate behavior. Still, he was never wrong.
Peter simply remained seated, thoughts flying through his head. It was all risk versus reward, and the risk was great. Very, very great.
Vindhelm just sat uncomfortably, twiddling with his fingers. He didn't like his friends fighting, but he wasn't about to speak up. He hoped someone would take the reigns and begin solving the issue.

Mitsuo stared intensely at Peter. He understood that they didn't know each other well and so the suspicion and lack of trust was excusable. That's all it was as to Mitsuo though, an excuse.

"Fine. If you're not going to help me then I'll try and find a way to investigate myself, even if it involves bending or breaking the rules."

The mechanic's fists clenched. None of this was right. Alan's squad should not be arguing with each other. Alan shouldn't be dead.

"You said two days. That Alan died two days ago. If you thought that Hyda or Vindhelm was a suspect then I highly doubt you'd so casually meet up with them like this. I highly doubt any of you could be a suspect with the way each of you are acting. I also highly doubt Alan would want you to be arguing like this."

A heavy sigh escaped the young Shimura. One of sheer determination and passion. He was going to get to the bottom of this. For Alan. For his friend.

"So, you can join me if you want. I'm not afraid that any of you could be the suspects... because I don't think any of you did it. If you're going to join me though, I'm going to need you to pull yourselves together."

Peter made up his mind. He blinked.
"Don't misinterpret me, Mitsuo Shimura." the scarecrow-like man said, rising from his seat "I simply stated that we cannot fully trust you as of yet. However, that's all the more reason for you to join our investigation team."
Peter stepped away from the table and started pacing slowly by the bookcase, his figure leaving a long, dark shadow before him in the candlelight.
"You see, it is unacceptable that you will investigate the case unofficially independently of us. Too many chances for failure, for getting caught. Your errors could make our investigation harder."

Peter scratched his nose and lowered his voice "The same goes for if you are the culprit. We can't have you going around, messing with the evidence and bribing witnesses. It'll be harder for you to act under our gaze.
But in all honesty..."
Peter walked up to Mitsuo, staring at him with those damned unblinking eyes
"I find it very unlikely that you'd be the murderer. I'm fairly certain it's Ottomer anyway."

Hyda gave a sigh of relief and walked closer. "It's good to see Peter finally came to the obvious conclusion, even if he did so rudely. You are right about one thing - we really do have to get ourselves in order. Thanks for joining us, Mitsuo."
She blinked, only then remembering Vindhelm was also there. She turned to him, embarrassed "Oh! Vind! You agree to all this, right?"
Vindhelm nodded slowly, relieved he didn't need to bring it up. Hyda blushed slightly.
"Well, that settles it." she said, a sad, determined smile on her face, reminiscent of her deceased captain. She extended a small hand to the scout.
"Welcome to the team, Mitsuo Shimura."

Mitsuo blinked before shaking Hyda's hand, he nodded and formed a serious expression on his face.

"Alright. First things first, I would like someone to inform Captain Katlewande's passing. You don't need to inform how, just state he is gone and he will be sorely missed. Avoid the question on how at all costs. Second I'd like to find out about a funeral, when and where. If one of you can do that for me that would be great. Third, we all need to sit down and talk, mainly about ourselves. We need to build trust before we can fully start to investigate who killed Alan and why. "

Mitsuo looked at each of Alan's team individually. They were in a state, just like he was. He nodded as he looked at them all, before scratching the back of his head with a half-nervous smile.

"If that's ok with you lot, that is!"

The mechanic could see why Alan liked his team. They were unique but calm and friendly. Although they weren't showing now, they way they acted showed it. They would do anything to bring justice for their late Captain. Mitsuo guessed his friend taught them well. They had the same goal in their eyes which he saw in Alan's eyes. The same determination. The same passion.

Hyda grasped Mitsuo's hand with her own. Its feeling was most unusual. It felt a lot cleaner and gentler than she expected, a great contrast of how she usually perceived the grease-covered mechanic. She liked it.
Peter retorted almost immediately after Mitsuo finished his words "Revealing Alan's death is a foolish mistake. Not only will that be a clear defiance of orders, but it will also raise more questions about Alan and the circumstances of his death. Policemen don't just die."
Hyda sat back down, seemingly deep in thought. Her brow furrowed in concentration.
"If the public finds out about Alan, the hunt will begin. Otto will know, and if he IS responsible for the murder, he will do his best to remain hidden. However, if we stay silent, and he is guilty, we can lull him into a false sense of security, making him easier to find during our secret operations..."
She smiled triumphantly. Alan trained her to think this way, and she was proud that she had it in her.
"Exactly." replied Peter, his face as stoic as ever, his rigid body stiff next to Mitsuo's far more 'alive' figure "so we shouldn't reveal this."

"You're wrong."
Everyone's eyes diverted to Vindhelm. He was hunched over the table, his face hesitant. Clearly the response frightened him.
"I - I mean, your conclusion is wrong, because your assumptions are. Your logic makes sense, but only under the assumption that Otto DID kill the captain."
Vindhelm's eyes darted from scary Peter to gentle Hyda.
"If Ottomer DIDN'T kill the captain, he would most certainly reveal himself when the accusations arise, in order to prove his innocence. However, if we stay silent, he has no reason to reveal himself, should he be hiding."
Vindhelm waited for a response from Hyda and Peter, but they said nothing. Pride makes it hard to admit fault. His attention turned to Mitsuo.
"You agree with me, don't you?" Vindhelm asked the young mechanic "It's not right to keep people in the dark about this."

Mitsuo shook his head, letting out a sigh. This was going to take a while, for sure.
Eventually, he looked up at the group again and started to speak.

"Look, you're all misunderstanding the reason here. We're not addressing the public of Alan's murder, just his family. We can ask them to keep his death a secret while we investigate but they have a right to know."

He looked around at them but mainly focused on Peter. He couldn't read the stoic MP and assumed that he would still disagree. He spoke again before someone else could retort.

"What if they come to visit him like I did? You're just going to do this every time? Just allowing people to find out on accident? I think it'll be wise to tell any relatives of Alan. Letting them know will keep them out of the picture. If we just tell Alan's relatives, then there's a chance that Otto still wouldn't know we're onto him... if he is the murderer... and therefore he won't go into hiding."

Mitsuo tapped his foot and his hands were shaking just a little. He still wasn't ok... but at least acting strong hopefully will keep the others strong as well. Or at least focused.

"Also, as I'm not an MP, if I tell Alan's relatives then that means none of you could get any consequences as I could say I don't know that the MP was keeping it under wraps and that I learnt about the death accidentally. I'll think of some excuse. It just means the plan changes a little, but that's not bad. Right now, none of this matters... not until we gather our thoughts and start investigating."

"Oh."
What followed was an awkward silence. The group exchanged glances, waiting for someone to say something. When she realized everyone was too embarrassed to say a word, Hyda swallowed her pride and said what they have all been thinking.
"We, uh... hadn't really thought about Alan's family." her eyes darted downwards, to the table "He- he never mentioned them once, and he hadn't really ever left the city to visit them. It's not that uncommon for people our age to be orphans." she made sure to keep her eyes off Vindhelm, who surely knew all too well that harsh truth.
"If we're being honest, we barely know anything about the Captain. He was always mysterious. That's why... that's why we always tried to figure out what he was hiding."
Hyda's cheeks were now blushing, but she remained on point.

"But you're right of course, Mitsuo;" she continued, her blue eyes looking at the scout before her "If Alan has a family, we absolutely HAVE to tell them what happened. I couldn't begin to imagine what it'd be like for them to find out accidentally." she hugged herself closer, absolutely traumatized at the thought.
"The risks that arise-" began Peter, but Hyda silenced him with a glare.
"To hell with your risks, Peter. This is not open for discussion."
Peter opened his mouth to retort, but soon closed it afterwards. His mismatched eyes stared angrily at the blonde girl by his side.

"Fine." he finally, said, closing his eyes as if to avoid looking at the truth "But Shimura has to be the one to do it. I will not stall our operations for this, and I will not commit treason for such a foolish reason."
Hyda turned to Mitsuo. "Asshole." she whispered under her breath. She took a deep breath and regained her composure.
"So, Mitsuo Shimura, are you up for the task? We know what we're asking of you is... harsh."
She stared at him, warily.

All is Shattered (Closed: Mitsuo, Alan) Empty Re: All is Shattered (Closed: Mitsuo, Alan)

Mitsuo nodded, taking a while to say anything, his lip quivering before he actually managed to speak.

"Sure... unfortunately this is part of a Scout's job, to tell relatives that a soldier has died."

Mitsuo scratched the back of his head. He too didn't really know much about Alan, now that he realized. Nor did he know if Alan actually did have a family. He struggled to recall if the late Captain had ever mentioned one. Maybe? He wasn't sure.

"I, uh, guess I'll need to get Alan's registry file though... to know where I am meant to go to meet his family, if he has any. I suppose I should go and request access to that now, huh. Well, guess I'll be on my way then. I'll see you guys soon."

The mechanic gave a curt nod and turned to leave, heading to the door. He stopped as he went to open it though.

"Peter. I know you don't trust me. Moreover, I'm just a scout to you... but don't go starting anything serious in the state you are now. I can tell your hiding your emotions, I do the same. Just... don't leave them bottled up for too long, ok?"

All is Shattered (Closed: Mitsuo, Alan) Empty Re: All is Shattered (Closed: Mitsuo, Alan)

Hyda sighed a sigh of relief when Mitsuo agreed to take on himself the heavy burden of telling Alan's family the travesty they were going to face. People could get through life, pretending to be tough, or mighty, or brilliant, but all of that meant nothing when the moment came to finally act. Mitsuo was someone who does things, not someone who says they do.
Vindhelm watched the brave scout ramble on about what he was planning to do. Both admiration and shame filled him, seeing how much good Mitsuo was going to do, knowing how little he was going to do meanwhile. He hated feeling weak like this. It reminded him of the attack on wall Maria. He hated thinking about that awful day.

Peter simply stood and remained silent. When the scout addressed him, his face hadn't given a glimpse of what he was thinking, but behind his eyes was rage. How could this scout possibly judge him, knowing so little? The sheer audacity of such an act was beyond reason, beyond logic, beyond coherent sense. Peter could think of dozens of ways he could punish the scout, all with varying degrees of planning, proportion, and consequences. For too long Peter had to endure the bleak ignorance and foolishness of humanity, for far too long.
And yet, Mitsuo was his partner. It wouldn't be right to act. Not now. Not yet.
"Noted." Peter replied, not taking his eyes off the mechanic "Good luck to you, Mitsuo Shimura."
"Good luck!" followed suit Hyda, as Mitsuo made his way out. Vindhelm remained silent.

And with that, the scout was off, and the trio was once again left to their lonesome. A brief silence followed before another word was spoken.
"You're furious, Peter." Hyda stated, looking up at the tall thin man, who hadn't moved since Mitsuo left.
"I am." he replied, not one to elaborate, as always. Hyda simply sighed and raised her legs up to hug them close to herself. It was sometimes very tiring to deal with people like her teammates.
"Hate him all you want, but Mitsuo was spot on with everything he said." said Vindhelm sheepishly, playing with a quill in his hand.
"He was." replied Peter again, eyes burning into the door Mitsuo had left through.
The dark, candle-lit library was silent. In it, sat three grieving souls. Today, another had joined their cause, but whatever they were going to do, one thing was sure.
They weren't going to bring Alan Katlewande back.
