Appearance:Renay is a young man with spiky, brown hair shaved into an undercut style, with the shaved portion being black. He has small, intense brown eyes and no facial hair.Renay is of average height (174 cm) and muscular build. He is often seen wearing the typical uniform of the Survey Corps worn with an olive-green button-up shirt.

Off-duty,his casual attire mostly consists of a white button-up shirt, dark pants, and a dark-brown vest and boots that reach up to his knees (He wears them both on and off duty).

Identity: Renay has a blunt personality. He holds no restraint when it comes to speaking his mind, even when he knows it would not be wise to do so or when it could spark conflict.Renay is also pragmatic.He has a strong aversion to exposing himself to dangerous situations,which sometimes he overcomes.However,after joining the Survey corps,that changed.He still doesnt want to expose himself to dangerous situations,but for the good of the people within the walls,he pushes himself to do so often.

Although he presents himself as self-centered, Renay places high value on the lives of his comrades, and is ashamed and horrified when he must leave helpless allies behind to save himself and others,which resorted to him overcoming his fear of exposing himself to danger.Despite his flaws,he can be a kind and thoughtfull person,caring a lot for his friends and comrades,Which he will defend to the end.

In People: Renay highly appreciates anyone with a positive outlook on life.He likes people who speak their minds and are honest.Personalities who are willing to take charge and offer command in dangerous times are admired by Renay.He also likes people who arent rude to their subordinates,and actually are able to think through dangerous situations and dont care about themselves,but for the good of everyone around them.

-Dislikes: Renay dislikes people who often lie.He doesnt take kindly to lies and despises betrayal.He is disgusted by people who actually throw away their comrades lives and think only about themselves.Another thing he dislikes is recklessness,which can cause bad results.

-Fears: Renay fears the loss of hope. He fears death,whic his natural due to human nature.He is afraid that nobody will remember him,and that his sacrifice will be in vain. Although he doesnt admit it,he is afraid of losing family and also losing his friends and loved ones.

-Goal(s): Renay has two goals in his life.The first one is that he wants the people of the walls to realize that Humanity hasnt lost all hope,and that there is still some.He wants to persuade them that there is still hope for tommorow.His second goal is the need to reveal the truth.He wants to learn everything about the outside world,as well as learning about the titans origins and details.

Backstory: Renay hails from the Trost District of Wall Rose.He was born to two bakers.He had quite the normal upbringing,alone,without siblings. His parents were always kind to him and did him all sorts of favors. As he grew up,he wanted to show them that he no longer wanted them to behave to him like he was a kid,which made him a bit frustrated.He still loved his parents tho,even he didnt show it a lot and treasured his time with them. He didnt have many friends but the few he had,he treasured them a lot.He loved his friends and always supported them,which in turn they did too.

In his childhood,he always admired the soldiers going through the walls.He was there when the survey corps returned from expeditions,sometimes he talked with the garisson guards near his home and even looked up to them. He always pretended he was a soldier when he was playing games with his friends.

When he reached the age of 15,2 years after the titans entered Wall Maria,he enlisted into the training corps,and wanted to graduate as one of the top ten students in order to be able to live in the inner walls of Sina,because of his parents telling him that it would be the best choice. During training,he did well enough but wasnt the best trainee in the corps.He was really good with the 3DMG,which impressed his instructors. He perfomed well during squad training,keeping everyone together,but the will to risk his life was not quite high.

When he graduated 3 years later,he was in the top ten and came into the 6th place.Initially he was going to immediately choose the Military Police Brigade but remembering his childhood of soldiers passing by the walls,bearing the wings of freedom and also some of his friends joining the survey corps,he changed his mind.He joined the corps,wanting to fullfill his childhood dreams.When the titans breached the Trost gate,his parents made it out alive and well and moved to the northern region,away from him.But they always wrote to him,and he wrote back to them most of the time.

Making the choice to join the Survey Corps made him a bit more dedicated,causing him to spend more time on training,in hopes of increasing his chances of survival and his skills.Renay,now in his first year in the Corps,tries to learn more about his comrades and focusses on training,waiting untill his first mission as a member of the corps is bestowed upon him.
