Commissariat Division Empty Commissariat Division

Post by Scitis Verum 9/6/2018, 21:03

The Commissariat division was mentioned to both of the Admins, this would be a division that's entire purpose is an execution and enforcement squad for the Military. I wanted to talk about proper uses of punishment, rights that the person in charge of it has and what power they have to affect specific individuals if they are not to be severely punished.

Commissariat Division Empty Re: Commissariat Division

Alrighty. So first if this is a division for the military, would each branch have it's own squad or would the whole military have one divison.

IE: 3 people (1 from each branch) each a Commissariat for the respective branches and they are a squad

OR

each branch has its own Commissariat squad (people only from the branches)

If they are an execution and enforcement squad they might work closer with the MP's, targeting runaway assailants or renegades from the military.

We do know that the AOT universe has a court system and a jailing system so they might also work in conjunction with the military court?

I was imagining that there would be one squad made from the Military Police, but have them be in charge of more than just the MP's. I was thinking that maybe there could be representatives of MP's accompanying some let's say Scouts on their missions or one to oversee Garrison operations and that sort of thing. That making it easy to have one governing person to be given orders to directly to instill, which would be Scitis's role he would have them taking specific steps to ensure the duties are carried out.

Commissariat Division Empty Re: Commissariat Division

My view is the same as Scitis, with the Commissars being only MPs.

I see the organization having been made by MP Commander Nile Doc after Captain Alan's death at the hands of his own traitorous subordinate. Doc saw the opportunity to bring this as an excuse to make the MPs actually do something and get off their arses, as well as a means that he could use in the future to keep his own branch in line.

Also, I think that in the event of treason, the Commissars have full authority to shoot to kill, should the traitor not turn himself in. Given traitors will likely never turn themselves in, I don't think Commissars should be busy trying to take anyone alive. General assumption is: if you're running from the law, that means that you know you're guilty, and thus are punishable. If you are falsely accused and innocent, you'd turn yourself in for trial, to prove it.

Generally, I think the Commissars should have no more authority than any other soldier of their respective rank, except in the event of punishment being required. That is to say, a Commissar accompanying a Scout division does not have the authority to bark any orders, but he does hold the authority to warn, court martial and possibly shoot dead anyone who disrespects those orders given by the respective leader of the mission (depending on severity and number of offenses).

Sounds like a good deal Herd! I think that is sound advice but what is the agreed position of Scitis? Would it be sound if he was to be captain of it? Just to ensure I have a sound idea of what to expect out of my characters position!
