Most of Cora's days the past weeks had always started and ended in utter darkness. Either she stood up before the sun went down or just after it had went down. Today was one where the sun had just risen from whereever it might hide during the night. Maybe just behind the walls, unable for her to see. Vex liked to believe that it was just turning into the moon and ignored both her and Nec's complaint about the moon sometimes being visible when the sun was there as well.
The past few days she had not really seen the sun much either, she had mostly been underground, in sewers or their headquarter talking to the other Alphas trying to sort stuff out. Most of the time on the black market was spent buying various goods, including living ones, in the sewers she had been planning routes for all sorts, smuggling, hiding, escaping, etc, etc. So given the whole time she had spent inside recently she was quite glad that she could finally use her 3DMG for a bit to get outside on top of the walls. Not having her head squeezed in by walls from all sides. No. Being on top of these walls, witnessing the beauty of the sunrise and the beauty of drunk soldiers in the morning. Even though, since Trost had fallen the amount of drunken soldiers had significantly decreased. It might have also been the fact that the commissariat had been alot more harsh with on the job drinking and those going against the law have now ended up face down in the mud. Watching the grass grow from underground, so to speak.

Cora had spent the morning watching Krolva from above and in between had been talking to various soldiers. Some would now tell her about the recent events, kept her up to date and would look in a different direction of where Cora might be from time to time. Convenient.
For the past weeks she had been working on increasing her area of influence, not just in Krolva but also other districts. So far it had worked quite well. Working both illegally and legally did open up way more opportunities for her than only either of the two would have.

Right now she was just laying on top of the wall, letting her feet dangle over the edge and enjoying the warm, but not too warm rays of sun shining onto her pale skin.

The trail of steam and the hiss announced his arrival along with the thud of his boots against the stone of the gigantic wall. His hood was off, thinking he would be alone up here. That girl was here, though. The one from the trial. He thought for a few moments, the warm breeze moving his shaggy hair and the gleam of the rising sun reflecting off his gray gaze.
He stared out over the land between the walls, taking in the view of the landscape. The rising sun only reminded him of his deceased wife, the variety of orange hues like a replica of her beautiful eyes. His stoic expression faltered at the memory of his family and he almost shed a tear. Almost.
His smooth voice spoke calmly, "You're the woman from the trial, correct?" as he trotted over to the lady. He sat down beside her and pulled out a flask, taking a long drink from it. "You want some whiskey?" he offered, tearing his gaze from the sunrise to look at her.

Cora was rather surprised at anyone wanting to talk to her. Even more so that someone recognized her this fast. Her own friends did not recognize her with the hair now short and the scar on her face, not even talking about the fingers she was missing.
She turned towards him and stared at him for a bit, trying to remember who he was. It was good to have Nec, however, cause he remembered alot about other people.
Even though, not even he was too familiar with this person. She remembered him faintly, 'trial' he had said, that gave her quite the clues from which time they knew each other. That to be said, at that point...it was quite the exciting time in her life, only fair that she had almost forgotten everything about the people she had met. He had not however, rather interesting.

"Yes, I am the girl from the trial. Even though...it's been three years?", she scratched her head, "I barely remember it, how do you?", this was a blatant lie. Of course Cora would remember the day she got thrown out of the military because of being three and not one person. Ha! Four even now! It had turned her whole life around. Instead of being the subordinate of someone she now had subordinates herself. And hopefully would gain even more. Even if they would never openly state such a thing. For the better as well. They already had problems with drunkards on duty, they did not have to know about corrupt ones.
"And I would like some whiskey", she said and smiled before staring onto the district again, "Even though. How much...Okay, I only had one glass so far, I can take another sip."
