Extra Long Blades

Extra Long Blades
What-Longer curved blades capable of cutting a titan's nape from the inside of the throat as a last resort.(I imagine they would be particularly more difficult to use due to the larger size and curve that's not present in the normal blades.) Arthur will also construct scabbards for said blades. The scabbards would be separate from the other scabbards placed directly above them and each scabbard would only be able to contain a single blade.
Why:As a last resort method if a titan doesn't bother actually chewing someone.(This can actually happen as seen in the anime where a titan just tries to swallow Armin.)
How: My character, as stated in the identity section is slightly paranoid about what could go wrong so he would choose to make a last resort in case something goes awry and this would be what he would think of, so he would try to make the blades and scabbard himself himself.

Re: Extra Long Blades
So on the one hand this looks pretty interesting, and I see no problem with the longer blades themselves. Even if not a blacksmith, enough paranoia can make people do great things.
Also, forget it about rolling anything, we're not that kind of site. Just always pick whatever yields the best story, be it valiant defeat or Pyrrhic victory. So whether the blades work or not will be up to you and however you think would benefit the drama and the tension best.
Now the issue: between the inside of a titan's neck and the nape is another, much sturdier obstacle. Namely, the spine. I assume cutting bone is considerably harder than flesh, and when you consider the fact soldiers need a lot of momentum to even cut napes alone, well, it's probably impossible to go through with anything short of cannon fire.
However, the solution I can think of would be some curved, pointed blades. That way, they could be stabbed through the flesh and around the spine, embedding themselves directly into the nape. That should be more than enough to kill the titan, if the soldier's aim was impeccable.
The issue is, of course, making a curved weapon is not as easy as just a straight, blocky blade.

Re: Extra Long Blades
I think that curved blades would be a good idea and make sense, i forgot about the spine thank you, I would imagine that being curved would mean the blades would be slightly easier to break. Also I added the roll thing to try to add balance but i'll remove it. Also with the curved blades that adds another last effort move where, since the blades are curved they could be used to cut off Titan fingers easily making for an easier escape from being grabbed.

Re: Extra Long Blades
Sounds about fair enough to me, really. With the curved blades (which, really, is an idea I've personally been flirting with for a long time) being less durable I think it does balance out, and them being better cutters is quite reasonable.
